Wild at Hart Homeschool Adventures is planning something truly extraordinary — and I want you to have plenty of time to plan for it!
I have finalized plans for us to attend Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) NEXT fall!
📅 September 20–23, 2027
📍 Dauphin Island Sea Lab | Dauphin Island, Alabama
🎓 Grades 5–12 (as of Fall 2027)
🌙 3 Nights | On-Site Dormitory Stay
Yes, you read that right — we are heading to one of Alabama's premier marine science research facilities for a full four-day, three-night immersive experience!
🔬 WHAT'S INCLUDED:
✅ All meals from the on-site café for the entire stay
✅ On-site dormitory accommodations
✅ A 1.5-hour Scientific Research Vessel Cruise
✅ Two STEM labs with hands-on field work (3.5–4 hours each)
✅ Two science labs at the DISL facility
✅ A full tour of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab
🚢 ON THE RESEARCH VESSEL, STUDENTS WILL:
• Explore estuary ecosystems and coastal habitats
• Learn about watersheds and human impact on marine environments
• Use real scientific sampling tools alongside marine scientists, including trawls, sampling nets, water sensors, and bottom grab samplers
• Conduct actual scientific research on the water — just like the pros!
This is not your average field trip. This is a multi-day, hands-on marine science experience that will give our older students a taste of real scientific research in one of the most beautiful coastal environments in the Southeast.

⚠️ YES, THIS IS OVER A YEAR AWAY — and that's intentional! A trip of this scale requires planning, budgeting, and preparation. Not to mention, Dauphin Island Sea Lab has an extensive waitlist and books far in advance. I wanted to give every interested family as much lead time as possible.
Space is limited, so please sign up as soon as you are able!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions — I'm happy to help!
This one is going to be unforgettable. 🐚🔭🌊
